Dundas Launches Chart Component For SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services
Microsoft Offers Advanced Charting And Dundas Adds To It
August 21st, 2008 (Toronto) - Dundas Data Visualization, a world leader in data visualization technologies, today announced the continuation of its award-winning charting technology with the release of Dundas Chart for Reporting Services, SQL Server 2008 Edition.
SQL Server 2008 is a complete enterprise-class offering that builds upon the success of SQL Server 2005 and delivers increased functionality to a comprehensive range of applications from the desktop to the data center. It includes enhanced charting capabilities provided by Dundas's intellectual property, which was acquired by Microsoft Corp. last year.

The new Dundas Chart edition boasts several features for enhancing the SQL Server 2008 charting experience. Among them:
- Intelligent charting - when faced with an abundance of data, the chart automatically splits into four charts, drawing upon our statistical/financial formulas to show more concise and meaningful information.
- Dynamic reports - instead of creating a different report every month because it changes monthly, Dundas Chart allows you to make just one dynamic report and let it change itself.
- The Dundas Code Editor - which allows you to write code against the chart in any aspect of the chart, any property. It also provides capabilities for producing complete corporate templates for saving time and potentially quick debugging.
- Annotations - which change and highlight elements based on certain conditions, adding a new dimension to your charts.
Dundas Chart was the first charting extension available for SQL Server Reporting Services 2005 (SSRS). Innovative and customizable, it extends your reports with numerous chart types, added features and other sophisticated visualizations not found in native SSRS charts.
