Position: (Junior - Intermediate) Product Finishing Engineer/ Technical Writer

Position and Duties

This entry level position requires a software developer with good development skills as well as good writing skills. The work consists of designing and developing add-ons, samples, tutorials, articles for our line of data visualization components. In addition, you will be working along with the core product team(s) during all phases of a product cycle from design, through to testing.   As well, you will have the responsibility of ensuring our clients get the most out of our components.

This is a full-time position. Work would be done at our head office (Toronto, Ontario, Canada); therefore any potential candidate must be eligible to work in Canada (or in the process of obtaining a work visa).

Compensation

Dundas offers a compensation plan that is well above the industry standard. This has allowed us to find and retain technical staff that is second to none. Compensation is made up of several parts with two main components, base and bonus. We provide highly competitive base salaries, plus we have an aggressive profit sharing program. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes extended health, dental, drug, health club, disability, and more.

Base salary is based on productivity, quality, experience, and initiative.

Experience

  • Must have a degree (or college certificate) with a major in computer science or must have 2+ years practical experience
  • 2 years+ Object Oriented Programming experience (academic or practical)
  • Some software design experience, including UI and usability

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of .NET including ASP.NET
  • Knowledge of C# (and some VB.NET)
  • Good knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and XML
  • Technical writing
  • Able to clearly convey concepts and ideas both spoken and in writing

Other

  • Must be willing to learn new skills on a regular basis, both on and off the job
  • Must be able to work well within a team, yet be able to work autonomously
  • Must be able to work in a company with an open and casual work environment
  • Must have good attention to detail
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
